Should I gamble on an “OEM Roof Rack”

So, I have found a roof rack “new in box” for a deal on FB Marketplace. Seller says it is 100% OEM, but doesn’t have box or papers to prove because he acquired through trade. I personally don’t want the hassle that everyone with aftermarket “OEM Style” has. They do not fit properly. I have asked for more photos and will update when I have them, but can anyone tell from the one picture I have if this is truly OEM? Also, should I be concerned about the weather stripping that looks to be falling off on the bottom? Thanks a lot guys.

Update: Seller said it doesn’t include cross bars. Is that not a cross bar atop the rack in the picture?

That looks exactly like the OEM “style” one I got on eBay. Didn’t fit great. Wish I got something else.

I’ve never even seen (up close) or owned a roof rack and I could tell that was a cross bar.. something fishy here lol

This is what I am afraid of. I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews on those.

From what I have read, they would be fine if the bolts just lined up correctly.
I’m hoping someone stumbles in that knows a way to tell “oem style” from “oem”.

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
That is the passenger side rack with the cross bar installed. Looks OEM compared to mine which is OEM.

I see the nubs on the front of the cross bar and can see the latch it the back in your pic.

It should have the part number stamped on it under the rubber foot pad

If you want one, why not buy a take off from someone upgrading to Prinsu?

I think a lot of the “fitment” issues are blamed on the product but I think it’s actually the truck itself. When I installed my prinsu rack, two of the holes didn’t line up properly. At first, I thought it was the rack’s fault but it was actually a Toyota manufacturer defect. Pretty to eat to fix with a dremel

Well I would do that. But it isn’t every day I see someone upgrading and selling an oem one. Lol

I’ve actually heard all good about prinsu.. I was referring to the oem style ones on eBay/Amazon that look exactly like oem. Pretty sure those are manufacturer defect and not truck defect considering everyone that gets them has the same issue.

Awesome.. I want to request a picture of the part number. Could you explain it to me like a dummy? I want to make sure I can explain it to him and he is able to find it easy as possible. When you say the foot, you mean the rear (part closest to rear of truck) correct? And part number on bottom of rubber stripping or between rubber and plastic foot? Thanks a lot!

If the weather stripping is still attached, was it installed at some point?

I’m not sure. Kind of why I’m posting here.. I have no clue what it looks like when it comes in the box. Description says “new in box”. So who knows lol

Unfortunately, I think this is only a cross bar set. Does not include the racks. Racks and cross bar set have a different part number.
If you search that link’s Part Number, sets with only cross bars come up. That link does read as if it would come with both though..
