Should I paint?

was at the car wash today pressure washing bugs off my vehicle. I was spraying the front grill and the paint peeled off the bumper.

Should I touch it up or leave it? I don't the peel to spread.

 

I'd throw some touch up on it, but that's as far as I would take it.

 

As you found out never pressure wash the bugs off. Try a damp dryer sheet it will get the bugs right off

Set your truck on fire and start over... it is the only way to be sure.

 

I blast those bugs at point blank range. At least I used to!

Hah my uncle asked am I buying a new truck now. For this and also my DD spilled red cherry icee on my rear seats.

Touch up paint will be imperfect but will help. Not sure why the paint peeled off. The use of a pressure washer at a car wash wouldn't cause it. They aren't powerful enough.
What can cause it, is leaving dead bug guts on your grille for weeks and that damages the paint so eventually it cracks and peels. Also could have been a rock chip covered by bug guts.

It's the grille so I wouldn't freak out. You could probably get someone like Macco or a body shop to repaint it for a reasonable cost for a 100% fix.

If it were me I'd be looking at repainting it. Something you might be able to do yourself if you like DIY projects.
