I have to say I am very attracted to the third gen Taco's.
I owned a 2005 TRD AC OR Manual Transmission.

Currently have a 2008 2.7 4x4 AC Manual Transmission with 95k miles on it.. I owe about 14,000$ on it... Thinking of trading in for the 2.7 AC 4x4 Manual Transmission brand new for 24,300$..

Just curious on peoples honest opinions.

My truck is running flawless, and I expect it to last past 300k; however the idea of a new shiney truck is appealing :D.

I see no reason to trade. New trucks are like women. They sure look great all shined up but dont fall for it!

I'll be honest. I never buy a new car until I pay the current one off. Equity helps when trading cars. But Follow your heart.

OP, only you can decide this. Our opinions are just that. I am now in my late 40s and have owned far too many new cars over the years (30ish). If I could go back and do it over, I would have bought fewer cars for sure. In the end, you always back up at least a little when you take on more payments and don't drive them until you pay them off. Then, when you pay them off it is so nice not to have that payment hanging over your head. If you like your truck and it is giving you good service, why bother? The third gens, all shiny and new, still have some issues that your truck may not have. If you buy a new one, it is used the second you drive it off the lot. In a few months the new car smell will be gone and a year or two later something newer and better will be out and the cycle will never end. If you want to trade and cannot wait, at least wait until the howling rear diff gets fixed before even considering it. Best of luck to you.

If you owe $14K then have to add that to the $24K plus taxes and fees you will probably be getting close to $40K, that's just way too much!

Very unlikely a dealer would pay $14k for your truck without jacking up the price of the new truck. Never a good idea to roll negative equity into a new loan. Keep your truck, pay it off and enjoy it for the next 200k miles then pay cash for your next vehicle.

A 10 year old vehicle is ancient these days.
