Should my LCA do this?

I was taking video of my front sus and noticed my LCA is moving left and right. Is this normal?

 

Not normal.

 

Looks like the bolt isnt moving at all...is held by the cams.

Id say the bushings are TOAST

 

This is my opinion also. Bushing looks either too squishy or partially disintegrated.

 

No. Take it to a reputable shop to replace LCA Bushings. Or DIY. Good luck.

 

The rubber bushings will allow it to flex some, but this looks a bit excessive. Bushings are probably due for replacement.

 

Lowers are a lot easier to replace than the uppers.

I'd replace the complete LCA. If the bushings are gone, the ball joints could be on their way out. Labor is less expensive/easier that way as well.

 

You say that until you deal with rusted ass cam bolts.

 

picked up free worn old ones to restore (I see them every so often and may even have an extra set)

I gotta say, the labor of me walking outside for a few minutes with a spray can in flip flops is so expensive

 

Mine didn't even need spray. Had all my bolts out in 5 minutes.

 

I'd disagree with this. The lower cam bolts are frequently siezed and need to be cut out. the top is one big bolt which is slightly tricky but overall an easier job, at least for me. I've swapped 3-4 sets myself.

But OP needs new LCAs, or at least the bushings. Those should not move much at all.

TORQUE BOLTS AT RIDE HEIGHT, NOT FULLY EXTENDED.

 

I agreee, uppers are easier to replace, but as long as the cam bolts come out fine, lowers are pretty easy also. A little more involved but not much more.

 

As noted, your bushings are shot.
