I know we have a Show me your camper shell thread but what do you all keep in there? How do you have it organized? Recovery gear? Camping gear? I am getting one in a few weeks so I wanted to get some ideas as to how your shells looked. Thanks

Camping stuff, shovel, axe, tools, hi lift, recovery bag and small chair. The essentials really.

I've looked at getting that Plano you have in there! What's your opinion on it? How water resistant is it?

It's kept the water out fairly well. The one on the right actually has an O ring. The one on the left will leak like a mother fucker and you can not sit on either one. Every time I go camping someone breaks one of my lids. I've actually got 2 of each style and I really like them. They've just got there quirks. The best thing about them is how well they stack.

I like the green one on the left and I was looking at it to hold recovery and camping gear because I don't want or need a shell I need something semi waterproof

Might be hard to see in the pic , but I have a bungie going side to side to help hold the upper bags but everything on the mat stays put , they work great

Ahh. I see now that you mention it. Is that just the OEM mat?

Edit. Nvm I see that it says tacoma on it. So obviously it is.

I like that shelf idea. Would how did you attach it to the shell? Just some long screws?

I'll sub here, so I can remember to take a picture later. A few odds and ends, highlift, shovels, 1.5gal of fuel, fire extinguisher, tire chains, tow straps, highlift shovel/axe/hammer tool. Some other junk, all in a milk crate, except the tire chains.

Organized? My middle name is organized.....(this is actually absurdly clean)
    Made my own bed mat

This never happens. I added an aluminum angle to tame the minor slop in the 'bed mat'.
