I wanted a camper that was ready to go whenever needed. I built this last winter, and couldn't be happier!

My Tacoma is a 2013 TRD Sport 4x4, with a 5' bed and an A.R.E. topper.

I used one 5' 2x10 as a standing brace for the bed with two 2x8 as the cross braces for the bed. I countersunk the 2x8's into the standing 2x10. The sleeping platform and the bottoms of the drawers are grade A, 3/4" plywood to prevent slivers and water damage. The sides of the drawers are pine. There are no rollers under the drawers, they move fine without them. I had the sleeping pad custom made by a company called, solacejh.com. The sleeping pad is 3 inches of foam, and inflatable.. Super comfortable! The pad is covered in PVC and is highly damage and water proof. I installed 2 LED battery powered lights to the front and back, and screwed them into the metal frame of the windowsills. I put in cafe curtain rods on all windows except the tailgate. I attached these directly to the existing screws on the windows of the topper. Black valence curtains worked great, and a few Velcro bands can tie them back while driving.

How much did that pad run you if you don't mind me asking. I need something similar on my bed platform

In this installment of "What's in Your Camper Shell?": it's a long gun and ammo!

It turns out camper shells make for great shooter's nests on a blazing hot and humid Georgia afternoon. Sidenote: ISO bed mat for a 6ft bed. These tacoma bed ridges are killing my bony arse/ribs/etc when laying prone.

My friend makes them. He did it for about $180. I bet it's $250-$300 without the, "bro-rate." It's bomb proof, and really nice to sleep on. solacejh.com

OOOHH how did you make the giant slide out drawer? I've been looking for something cool other than bearings and square metal tube

My 2016 double cab long bed. We also throw a slim air mattress in at night to sleep on. Works great
