Have any of you carpeted the inside of and ARE or nay other shell? How hard is it and does it help with Condensation if / when you sleep in bed? Pics and thoughts please.

On my old truck I had a factory carpeted shell. It did help with condensation. I don’t have any pictures, but the carpet covered the whole inside. It was sealed on the ends and sandwiched in between the window frames and shell wall.

Looks awesome! Nice and organized. What all are you using to keep the stuff hooked to the sides? Fire extinguisher, axe, etc.

I actually bought it from @jwctaco! He built his and improved on it.

I love it though. Super useful. I'd like to come up with a quick removal for it though.

Take it out, cut it front to back in half and put a piano hinge on the seam and add some wood or flat bar runners to one half to support it when open/installed.

The green represents the piano hinge and the flat bar or wood supports attached to one half only to allow it to fold up. When back in place the the supports create the stops for the needed support.

That's pretty brilliant. The design though has two angled sheets of steel connected to the bed frame. Those angled sides are the sides of the shelf. But your design has me thinking I could cut the vertical bar, attach two "L" brackets and then bolt the two "l" brackets together. Making 4 points (8 "L" bolts)...

Shit, I cross referenced posts. I saw the wood version in @JWTaco87 bed and referred to that in my design. :duh:

Yea, I bet you could attach angled brackets and drop it onto those easily enough. Add some HDE rubber to isolate it to reduce vibrations and noise.

Thanks, I love problem solving. I'm a nerd.
