    Nice!

The masonry tub idea is genius. I’d bet one could also find ice fishing sleds of just the right size for the same purpose.

I have a jet sled that lives in my bed as a pseudo drawer. If I ever make a platform I’ll build it so the sled can slide underneath, otherwise the sled is almost as long as the bed so I can load it up with stuff, slide the sled out and grab whatever I need even if it’s up front. Bonus is it gets used for hunting, trips to get rid of yard waste, etc and is easy to hose out. If I need to haul something with a bigger footprint, it isn’t attached and can just get left in the garage or put in top of whatever that cargo is.

    Awesome!

Can two of those fit, side-by-side?

Not the one I have, but you may be able to get a pair that does. It probably covers 60% of the width of the bed, 90% of the 5’ length. I’ve had this one for probably 10 years and various vehicles so I didn’t get it specifically for that purpose.

Lol. This rig was her idea. It is nice being able to sleep comfortably in a 6ft bed though. Tacoma's seem like they're made for short people! I guess Big's and tall's can go get a Tundra. :notsure:

I installed L-Track in the bed on the driver side and re-installed my sliding tray. Currently for bins or bike. The bike fits, but I planned this around a mid height topper so I have to lean the bike over to get it in unfortunately. Will be making a removable kitchen table top for it with deep cycle battery, water storage/ pump, sink, and propane stove.

    Lots of rad builds guys!

I believe I have posted in here earlier about this setup, but I had just made it. A couple months later and I've got a few nights under my belt in this setup now, 27 to be exact. It set me back about $100.00 and it does everything I need it to do. I'm 5'11 and I am able to sleep in the back of my SB diagonally on the platform, did 13 nights in a row with no problems. The drawer was made with the excess pieces of of the platform and slides on pine dowels which fit in the grooves of the bed so it doesn't move around when I'm driving. I've got small shelf hangers on the inside which prop up wooden planks, holding my stove while I cook, giving me a sort of kitchen. I've done hundreds of hard miles on dirt and even had to haul heavy wheels and tires on the platform, nothing has broken. It can be setup or taken down in a minute.

Most days I wish I had gotten a access cab long bed so I could have more room, but I believe this is the one of the best setups for a DCSB truck camper, it's served me well thus far and utilizes the full space of the 5 ft bed!

Depending upon what you plan to mount, you can also use 3/8" carriage bolts in the tracks. This is a MUCH cheaper option when mounting light to medium weight accessories. As a point of reference, a 15 pack of 3/8" x 1" stainless carriage bolts from HD is about $14. A pack of 5 is less than $6.

Did you end up building it? If so, where did you mount it? I did some calculations and that's going to be one HUGE water tank! I estimated it will weigh about 160 lbs filled and be over 9 feer long. Is that what you calculated?

btw, On one trip to the mountains, I took a shower using my propane water heater (Eccotemp L5) attached to a portable water supply. I was disappointed with the results because it did not get very hot. I suspect the problem was the cold well water I used. This water heater can only raise the water temperature 35 degrees. So, if the water going in is 50 degrees, the maximum output will only be 85 degrees. Just something to keep in mind so your expectations are realistic.

Hey, nice truck. This is the roof setup I'm hoping to get. Would you be able to measure the height from the top of your shell's track to the top of the platform?

Thanks man. Sure thing although I am a bit confused, do you mean the top of the rack track to the top of the roof rack or the top the platform in the camper to the top of the camper roof?
