Thanks! Any time where she's more exhausted then I is considered a win in my book! In the winter time she can go seemingly forever. The summer heat does a number on her!

Something totally different than what's normally under it.

Decided to make some extremely simple pull drawers. I actually made 4, 2 are for camping, the other 2 I'm gonna use to hold all my work tools. Should have the raised deck done today. I just need to add handles and sliders to them so they aren't sliding around while driving

Dingo approved. Even finished before the heat of the day which is forecasting over 100°.. may use the new deck as an excuse to visit rampart reservoir..

Looks like the boss approves of your work. That’s one happy puppy! He’s ready to go to the reservoir.

Anyone in New England want a free bed platform? Shoot me a PM and come pick it up. Carpeted plywood with 2x4 supports.

For those of you who’ve done a platform bed, what kind of padding/carpet did you put on the surface? How did you affix it?

I’m in the process of starting my own & trying to weigh out my options. Thanks!

I have two hiking camping sleep pads. One is foam and the other is a self inflating. They get small and can easily be taking in and out when not in use. I also made my sleeping platform to be easily removed too. I use my truck for to many different things to make it a camping purpose only vehicle.

I cover my platform with the OEM bedmat and a 4-6” (not sure) memory foam mattress goes on top of that

i use a very nice camping pad that has a memory foam layer on it as well. its oversized, and can be packed up nicely. Currently, my platform is just solid 3/4 OSB with nothing attached to it. The reason for this is i work in construction so i expect its going to get beat up. and i wanted an easy way to replace it if need be. My father built his own decked system in an old van he bought for work, he used the RV / Outdoor rug you can buy from home depot and just used staples for the top. He wishes he had glued it down as there is some movement on it, but i think thats a good non permanent option to do as well.

I used BedRug. I bought several yards, and cut it to fit. Sewed binding on the edge to make it look nicer.

To the bottom of the rug, I sewed on Velcro (6 or 8 inch long strips) and used the sticky Velcro on the platform. It works well.

It's not bad to lie on, but to sleep on it, I put down a Thermorest backpacking pad.

Curious how do you like the Bam Bed? My new 22 is coming this September and I am doing a topper this time around but its only a 5ft for so I feel for a night or two I could sleep in the truck.

Digging your Bam Bed. Getting a pop up shell (Topo Topper) and the Bam Bed seems a good way to manage the living space.. vs pricy Goose Gear and I am no DIY'r

I'm quite happy with my BamBed.
Gives me more headroom than my other setup.
My front runner boxes do fit under it.
I can pack my stuff under it and have my bed made up on top.
The pieces are easy to move around and carry.
My other set up has 2 pieces that are 28 1/2 x 73 and some 2x6's.
    Here's a couple more pics.
The woodgrain on the bamboo is very attractive.
