I have mine in the same spot. I used double-sided tape as well as the two screws that hold the radio in. For someone who has thick calves, this placement will be uncomfortable. However, I agree that the controls are very easy to get to and the radio can be easily heard, especially if you use the media jack into the Taco's radio and the speaker out on the radio.

thats an awesome idea!! didnt even think about that. in my aftermarket though, i had to run an aux jack up into my dash kit so i'd have to get a male-to-female extension cord about 3 feet.

When the weather is better I'm looking at the location where the TRD trucks AC inverter is located (under the console, rear, bottom). I am hoping it is large enough for the body of my TM-V7A. I have a remote head mount kit, so I should be able to find a convenient place for it up front.

Pretty sure it's made by American International. It was black and I painted it to match the dash. The Metra is probably basically the same kit. You'll need to modify whichever space you use (top or bottom) to get the CB to fit since it's a little bigger than a DIN sized radio.

For those of you with the pre-09 back seats, is there any problem with folding the back seats forward and down with the CB mounted to the rear of the center console? I just took out my ~20yr old Realistic TRC-481 and it is pretty compact. Now I want to get it installed.
