hey, how do you secure your canoe on that rack? I have an uptop overland that I really like, but haven't found a great canoe carrying method that keeps it in one spot. canoe is the primary reason I have a roof rack, so i reverted back to yakima until I can solve the shifting on long drives with the canoe.

800 lbs static is impressive. But wow $1500 is pricey.

Nice Set up. What kayak holder do you use with that rack? This will be one of my primary uses of the rack.

I have two pairs of Yakima JayLow's. They're designed to clamp onto the standard Yakima oval bars but they also clamp perfectly on the Prinsu square excrusion bars. They are spendy but they're super versitle and can be removed easily when not in use. I can mount both kayaks back to back and still have room on the driver's side for a case that holds my oars and life vests and whatnot

2nd Gobi I’ve bought. First was on my FJ.
Not the best shot, but it works. These things are tanks.

Ha nice catch. Meant agonizing of course.

Thanks for the compliment on the truck! I seem to get way more compliments in real life out and about than I do on TW. Which is fine Because it almost always invariably ends up as a good conversation and a handshake

How be has your RCI rack held up, still water tight? Did you reinstall the roof gutter rubber around the RCI feet? Any silicone?

No issues at all. Had the kayaks mounted up on some Yakima Jaylow racks a few weeks ago so we could take the camper to the lake and it did fantastic. I did not use silicone, just the rubber backed washers and the hard rubber blocks and have not had any leaks. I did cut and reinstall the gutter trim, but that was strictly for looks, it doesn't add anything functionally.

Looks like a bullet. . .and looks like its bullet proof! Sharp, tough-looking tacoma there! Maybe my favorite I've seen on this Forum.

Wow high praise indeed. Thank you!

I finally finished the 'last' thing. The one thing I disliked about my rig was the chrome bolts on the fender flares/wheels. Took some research, but I was able to find matte black replacements for both and now I feel like it looks proper. Also now have a black cover on the grill light. I'm done...
