haha, I've grown rather fond of it. Not only great for work but bought a twin size air mattress that fits perfectly in the bed and since my girlfriend and I are both shorter people we fit in it great. Just need to rig up a fan for the window in the front and a screen for back hatch

I installed a vent in my shell, to let heat out, works great for letting moisture out too.
I wrapped the back glass of my shell with vinyl. Works great. Never wrapped an entire shell, but I'd think it would work fine.

    Thanks,
I just finished another side job today. Figure I have made half of it back already. Does anyone have a good way of making a screen for the back hatch, I got some left over screen from my father in-law but don't have any great ideas on how to go about it?

Took a trip to New Mexico with the whole family. Our three kids, spouses and grandkids made the trip. One week near Cloudcroft required looks of luggage, coolers and patience. The Taco was the pack mule for excess items and all coolers. We had great fun so thought to share the topper photos with the TW crowd.
Before we took out, I installed turn signals on the topper to let people in the blind spot of my intentions. First I placed a two prong plug that had been tapped into the turn signal and grounded to the frame to facilitate removing the topper. Drilled the bed just like the Leer installer did on the other side.
Next I ran the power and ground wire under the windows and secured with cable clamps and screws. I had hoped to use the window frame screws, but I would have the replace the screws with longer ones and was concerned about punching through the frame.
Finally connected the LEDs to the turn signal system.
Total cost was under 25$ and took about an hour.

As far as looks go, Leer 100XQ is the shell of my choice and this is the one I bought, however, there are few things I do not like about it. See my older post about it here:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-me-your-shell.13598/page-159#post-10480997

This is the only shell I've ever had, so I can not tell you if it is better than any other shell quality-wise. Plus I bought it used.
SnugTop seems like a great shell, but Leer definitely looks better as far as i'm concerned.

Home patio door screen protectors. Very cheap 1 makes enough for 2 windows.
