I just purchased the WaterPORT with no mounting hardware. The bed mount does come with an aluminum bracket, which slides over the tailgate or the front part of the bed. I wanted it to mount to the side like in the picture. So the simplest way I could think of is, run big zip ties through the whole that are on the lower portion of the bed rails. It's pretty secure, barely moves at all, if any a hair. I like the way it set and fits, I might try something different down the road but it's staying in that general area. I like it so far, ready to try it out when it gets warmer. Quality is very good, lite but built very well. Haven't put water in it yet to see if it leaks b/c I don't want anything in it over the winter months. I have not heard of any leaks from anyone who has them or any complaints. Good quality stuff.

Yes or new leaf packs. You will start shagging if you don't. It just looks bad seeing a tacoma shagging

FWIW, I'm probably just going to go with the . Seems to be a popular solution. I'm still racking my brain on a complete suspension solution, but the Dakar is part of that.

Dakars are good leafs. Just don't be surprised when they start squeaking.

IMG_2974.jpg My new Leer 100xr came in today. I took the roof racks off til spring. It has removable front glass, Thule rack, carpet, storage net, and remote lock.
Going to add carpeted platform and LED lights, blackout the windows and add my fishing rod racks hopefully they fit.

My 100XQ is supposed to be here in mid January. I just ordered a set of Total Chaos bed supports. I'm trying to plan some stuff for inside the shell/bed. What type of tool storage and lighting do y'all have going on inside? I'm looking for some pics for inspiration.

My recommendation is don't use wood. LOL! I started with a wood setup. Hadn't got to puting in shelves when I went through a deep(ish) water crossing. Warped the whole thing. Ended up having to scrap it.

    Not wood? Then what?
Isn't marine plywood a good idea?

Well, I was also thinking of using some sort of metal. I'm not looking at building a sleeping platform or anything. At least for now... Really I just need something to hold some tools, basic recovery and trailering stuff. I have some of it stored under the rear seats and some behind the seats. I'd like to build a subwoofer enclosure for behind the seat, move all the stuff I have now into the back as well as add a few more things that won't currently fit inside the truck.

I do agree that marine plywood would probably be ok, though. At least for my purposes.

I did, however, recently find a web site (http://www.tnttt.com/) about building teardrop trailers. They have a method using glue, water, and canvas to completely seal wood. I haven't tried it myself but I am considering trying some small test pieces to see if it will work for a bed organization system.

I believe that the the posts I referred to included epoxy as an additional sealing agent for the marine wood.

And I will be making a setup for sleeping.

Picked up a leer 100XR and I'm ordering the total chaos bed supports as well. Do you have to remove the cap before installing those or just bolt them right up?
