What size connectors are y’all using to connect to the fuse block? 3/8”? 5/16”?

Also I assume most are using a 2-4 AWG wire from the battery?

Here are a couple of Diagrams I drew up for how I'm planning to set mine up. Shows both the fuse box and switch panel. I plan on using the 6 Fuse Blue Sea Fuse Box with Grounds. Let me know if anything is out of place! Hope this can help some people as well.

Just a reminder that if you just ground accessories to the chassis then it's a good idea to upgrade the chassis ground strap on the battery.

Is there a benefit to having the relays in some sort of water/dust proof enclosure? I don't understand why there would be a benefit since the blue sea fuse block is not water proof. Have any of you that are running them open in engine bay had any issues? I originally wanted to mount them on the bottom side of my tray.

Also, I am looking for relays that come with the wiring plugs to make wiring cleaner. All the relays I find are rated to 30 amps but only have 12 gauge load wires. Based on the blue sea wire size chart, 12 gauge can't handle 30 amps regardless of the length. Am i missing something here?

water does get into the engine bay when driving in rain, huge puddles, water crossings, so any exposed relays is always good to have a seal on them. I have had a few fail with water issues.

as for the 30amp relays yes, should have 10ga at min, but most people dont run them at a full 30amps. I would say all of my 30amp relays only need to handle 10amps from led lights.

If thats the case then why does a standard led lightbar harness rated for 300 watt that come with 30amp fuses come with 14g wire. They would be sued time and time again for electrical fires if they were under rated. Your fine. Just get the waterproof ones on Amazon and screw them to bottom of panel nicely then shrinkwrap ur connections or get waterproof connectors

I asked this in my own thread, but wanna try my luck here, is there a way to have my aux fuse panel come on when my truck comes on and not 'always on'?

You can have relays activated by ignition only powered switches. Or you could power the fuse box with an ignition only activated solenoid which acts like a big whopper relay. Like relays, solenoids use power themselves when in use though.

I'm assuming you put your relays on the underside? You didn't happen to take any pics did you? I just got one of the panels from Paranoid and I'm just brainstorming how I want it laid out.

A few mods here and there and counting....
Yeah they're bolted underneath to the series of bolts in front of the kicker fuse holder.

Middle piece is a center console bracket for a 6-way mini fuse panel. It will get power from the cig lighter plugs which will in turn be converted to always powered status fused directly from the bussman. A5ADC683-A495-4C6E-8BED-BD6C71101420_zps_cb75cb13acc89decf4398667dc360e14b2fcf429.jpg There are some extra 8mm tapped holes under th center console. The bracket gets captured by one of these at the back and the passenger side E-brake bolt at the front. Its also drilled to mount my oba manifold(two air outs[gage & regulator], relief valve, pressure switch, and shrader valve for aux CO2/air back up fills).
