Nice. Yea the big carb and exhaust really wake the 400s up. That engine has a lot of potential. I rode a stock one and it was a dog. Then I road the same bike with a big bore kit, exhaust and a bigger carb and it was so damn fast.

My 2003 KTM 250 SX. Just picked it up a little over a month ago. Spent the past couple of weekends replacing parts and sprucing it up. Haven't had a chance to take it out and ride it yet.

Thanks. I'm just getting back into riding after having been out of it for a while. Just wanted something to play around on that wouldn't break the bank. The parts I replaced were: both tires & tubes, air filter, grips, levers, reeds, plastic, kill button, pipe and silencer/spark arrester (both were stock, replaced with Pro Circuit). I also replaced quite a few pieces of missing hardware and some minor miscellaneous items. And had to re-jet it for Colorado altitude (was a SoCal bike). The previous owner had it since new and hadn't ridden it in a while, so it had been neglected a bit in recent years. Top end was supposedly done a couple years back and only had 3 rides on it, which I believe, as it has great compression and fires right up even when cold (once I re-jetted and installed a new plug).

right on. There so many awesome deals down in so cal on used bikes. I scan the Craig's list down there all the time. And the good thing about buying a bike out of that area is that there less likely to have any seized linkages or steering tube bearings. Nice purchase. Can't go wrong with a ktm.

Yeah, I've always heard good things about KTM. This is my first. Always had YZs & CRs before. Can't wait to see what she can do.

BTW... sweet Beta you got there.
