Don't forget about The xr650r. Those things usually will not die either.

I'd say include DR650s as well :D Here's mine up on the trailer, rolled her up to make sure everything fit fine and test out the fold down ramp/gate I built for it.

Hate to get my leg trapped under that thing I'd have to chew my leg off just to escape. Nice setup though- have something very similar.

Thanks man! It was built to race for sure. I have to run race gas like 100 or 110 octane. It does not run on pump gas.

Nice RM! I'm considering a 125 build in the future. They're so much fun to ride. Did you do anything to the engine or is it stock?

Oh that RM is sweet!!! I want to find an early 80s RM125 to restore or a newer one to build and make it look like an old one.

I just realized how weird that sounds. Find an old one to make it look new or find a new one and make it look old.

01 yz450 street legal. Sold it a few years back. Was super fun but 4speed trans blows. Kept up to an Audi R8 to 60 mph :)

That does not sound weird at all, im looking for an 89 to restore for a good friend, it was the first 2 stroke i ever rode!

My original plan was to go throwback with this build like 89 graphics and fork covers, just turned out it wouldnt turn out the way i wanted it to

I just found a street legal CRF450 on craigslist and was wondering how it performed on the road and what the top speed might be. Did you have to make any gearing changes?

I had a 15t on front which was as big as you can go, and a 40t in the rear. Was hard to find smaller than that. It would top out at 140 km/h. You could cruise at 80km/h all day so it is kind of a city cruiser, not so good at hwy speed. Mine was a 4speed trans, A 5 or 6speed would obviously be better.
It would overheat in traffic pretty quick. I had 1 oversize rad with a 12v computer fan cooling it, used engine ice for coolant, pulled off all skid plates to help shed the heat, and simply shut bike off if i was sitting in really bad traffic so your valves need to be dialed to make sure it fires first kick.
All in all, was quite finiky but would put a huge grin on my face everytime!
