For those of you that built bolt on sliders for your third gen, where on earth are you bolting to? I’m looking at my frame and am just puzzled on where to begin here, I really see no holes I would use, in my opinion they are too big or too small of holes for any substantial hardware.

There's a bunch of little stickers covering the holes. All the round circles you see on the frame are just these little plastic stickers. Take them off and expose the holes

What size bolts are you using on the DIY Sliders? I know this info is probably somewhere in here, but I couldn't find it.

Just got done with my front bumper. Cut the lower x-member and added a new one right at the frame horns, gained about 5.5” from the previous eBay knock off bumper I had (nearly ripped off) here’s some pics of the process.

I work for Southern Style Offroad. We used that to build our 4R rear bumpers so we know the fitment is right.

No mods - just all the adventure gear in the back
Oh man, funny not funny story - my daughter was part of the first Formula SAE team from Grand Canyon Univ. They uh, did some welding on the chassis the night before competition, and yes, burned up the ECU but didn't realize until the next day when it wouldn't start. They went through the static judging and scored well, but had zeros for the dynamic. They beat U of A with a car that didn't run!

    https://news.gcu.edu/2019/06/formula-sae-team-hitting-the-road-to-competition/

Ok back to topic - there are some pretty killer setups here - thanks for the inspiration.

    Yeah
Second time doing anything like this (and it’s already way better than the first bumper on my Gambler car lol).
I’ve still got a lot of work to do but it felt good to actually bolt it on for the first time. It’s getting a receiver mount and a set of bed protector bars on the sides but I gotta borrow my works plasma cutter for that to happen.

You can see the Subaru in the back ground of this pic. She just got a new set of A/T’s and it literally tripled the value of the whole car. I’m running the Detroit Gambler500 this June (with my buddy driving the taco as my chase vehicle) but I’ve got some more welding to do on it before then: winch mount and a skid plate below the engine mainly.

    Yeah
It’s probably one of the tamest gambler cars you’ll ever see. 09 Impreza with a 3.5” lift, 29’s and body damage on every single panel. Plus the above mentioned bumper.

Homemade skid out of 3/16"s thats heavily ribbed, mounted with 8 1/2" bolts and made it so it rests against my lower pivot gussets to prevent bending where its not bolted.

Only picture I have, but plated the bottom of my diff to tag along with the rear truss/ring gear plating.

Leveling kit, wheel spacers, personally fabricated modified frame, and some sweet diamond plate to cover up a smashed driver side! Because I was stupid

I was showing off my “body armor” on another thread then I found this one! The diamond plate is covering a smashed in side!
I need to redo the fender, I ran out off plate and used an old tool box

I had my bumper powder coated with a place we do alot of industrial work with, I sandblasted it myself which is about 75% of the cost and they spray and baked it for $150. I did etching primer and rustoleom pro enamel on my UCAs and sliders and they are holding up decently with no issues to just touch them up. Generally once you spray something a powder coater is going to charge you some extra if its painted vs bare metal.

Rattle can skids if you plan to use them a lot. Easy to just spray some black rattle back on after you give it a post-offroad rinse.
