And they make it seem like "oh yeah, just take 2days off work and one trip to Home Depot and get your whole damn house renovated, it's that simple!" I look around my place and see more unfinished started projects then things that I'm just ok with, not really happy with anything, just ok for now. I'm sure my adhd isn't helping tho

This is our current workshop under our house, but we are building a road into some property we own to build a shop there.

My good buddy's dad recently passed away. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for decades and amassed a ton of tools and spare parts over that time. My buddy doesn't have a proper shop, so he gave me first dibs on a lot of his dad's stuff. Among other things, I ended up with this parts bin and thousands of fasteners and other parts to put in it.

PC310079.jpg I built this 3 years ago. 33'x33'. I have a single car garage under the house, but needed more room. Since then, it's finished with shutters and a cupola.

On the topic of buying houses I just closed two weeks ago. Painted the entire inside of the house so far. Kitchen was a nice transformation. Finished walls last night. Just working on the trim now. Once I get moved in I will turn my attention to my garage.20160102_210649.jpg IS9hbpvqtgy7w11000000000.jpg 20160101_171604.jpg

Realized I never posted a picture of the first modification I made to the shop when we first bought the place, a sliding loft ladder.

    Awesome!

I wanted to do something similar to my loft as well. Unfortunately there are too many small kids in the family so I had to fence off my loft.

I had no choice, since everyone comes out to the shop when visiting. I don't really mind. I've let all the parents know that they and the kids are welcome, but I WILL not be held responsible for any injuries. I secretly think its a good thing to help teach the kiddos to be aware of their surroundings.

In addition, I love Quonset hut buildings. No structure has less maintenance.
