My next mod will be adding a light bar in the lower grille and I'm looking for ideas, tips and vendors.. I will be hunting in the winter and need something tough and bright. Want to keep the setup hidden and would prefer an oem switch to the left of the steering. I'm sure a lot of you have already done this.. Let's see em..

I have the opt 7 c2 32 inch led bar in my liwer valence. It comes complete with the harness relay and a generic button for 176. In retro spect id go with a 30 inch if it were available since it would fit with less cutting. Or a 32 would be fine if it wasnt being mounted flush like mine. I use it every morning driving to work at 3 am in BFE.20150726_190715.jpg20150726_190647.jpgi mounted it using a 36 inch angle iron with predrilled holes from lowes. It fits the crash bar perfect. And then some 1 inch wide metal stock and cut it to 5 ish inches long. And then attach it all to each other and your good. Ill try to find a pic of my mounting setup.downloadfile.jpghard to see but the bars feet attach to metal stock. Stock attaches to angle iron and angle iron attaches to crash bar. Enjoy.

Ive driven through many downpours here in florida with absolutely no humidty inside. So thats also a plus.
And the button it comes with is connected with spade connectors, so you can change the button to whatever, whenever.

No problem. Instead of a dremel or other motorized tool. I found using a pair of dikes to cut out the plastic worked best.

Looks good. How did you run the switch?
Has anyone done an oe switch to the left of the steering wheel?

32" light bar in lower valance, 4 - 4" lights on an N-fab bed rack. I used Air On Board switches in both left and center blank locations. Very good quality and fit like OEM.

I put my switch in theough the rubber boot firewall thang. Then ran it on the under sode of lower dash. Then i removed center console to gain access to my center dash switchs. Popped out a blank and put the generic round switch in. I plan to get a legit switch later on. The opt 7 has a quick disconnect harness thing like 2 foot after the button. So i fed the wire in the hole and grabbed it and have the excess wire and quick disconnect directly below the center console.

I typed that in the florida sunlight so forgive my spelling errors. And dikes are wire cutters.

Looks like you mounted it behind the grill without cutting the thin plastic fin? What's an air on board switch? Any pics of the switches? Thanks

Go to aironboard.com they have many backlit switch options.that fit tacoma blank holes. All you need to do is push the blank from the back side, or drill a screw into the front and yank it out via the screw.
