I did not find this, but I did find it extremely helpful to explain how each temp will effect the life of the transmission fluid. The fluid is the life of the transmission, if it goes bad you are SOL.

Right into the Scangauge II. It's in one of the selectable menu's. Read the manual. It will come with detailed X-gauge instructions.

The short form is you will enter the codes I've provided into your gauge and then gain those readings. It's not very hard ;).

Still waiting for UG to have Trans Temp readability. It's really nice other than that.

Depends on what you have done to the 40...mine weighs in at about 4500# ready for the trail, so sat at close to 6k when on the Carson 16ft. flatbed. Never towed it with my Taco, but towed quite a bit with a 1st Gen Tundra which is pretty close to the size and weight of the new Taco's. If you are getting a trailer, go for Brakes on both axles! Also get some form of sway control (even the simple sliding friction ones help). I never used an equalizing hitch as I could adjust tongue weight by moving the rig on the trailer. If you have adjustable shocks on the 40 (like rancho 9000's, set them to stiff and also make sure you air the tires up to street pressure on the 40).....soft tires and shocks on softest setting gets real exciting if you have to do a quick evasive move with your truck....40 starts rocking and just keeps getting worse....major pucker factor! I used the axle straps to hook her to the trailer vs. strapping to the body.

Nice! I just have to call them and make sure it's still available. The website isn't very clear about whether or not this option is still available.

You might think, as much as folks have been bitching about getting trans temps, that UG would let folks know about this when it happens. Maybe by email or something. I'm on TW enough that I'm surprised I didn't see this.

Oh well. Hopefully I can get it sent out today and get it back with tranny temps now.

Anybody towing a Rockwood mini lite 2306?? I am looking at buying one, it has a dry weight around 3800 pds. I have a 09 tacoma v6 with a towing package. What does everyone think about towing that weight? Thanks for any info!

My Jayco weighs within a hundred pounds of that trailer dry. You should be fine as long as you don't over load it. My suggestion is to try and setup a test pull or to find a buddy who has a similar trailer and pull that around for a bit in every situation you can replicate. That's the only way to tell if you will be comfortable pulling that weight with your Tacoma.

    Oh, and read this http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/towing/4031-tacoma-towing-bible.html

New guy here. I'm towing a stock M416 trailer. It has served many purposes over the years and seems a good fit for my recently acquired Taco.

    Trailer is aluminium (sorry I'm British) around 2200lbs & 39' long x 7' wide. Heli is 1500lbs empty - 1800 w fuel.
Home-made gooseneck hitch - reinforced angle iron bolted then welded to frame. V V strong!
    Tows like a dream.
Longest trip so far Indiana to Florida - Interstate all the way. Most difficult part was getting used to the turn radius in the first gas station - haha.
Actually, the most difficult part is landing the bloody thing on the trailer in the first place! Str8UpAviation.com

Wouldn't it be simpler to just fly it to where it needs to be? :D

Pulled one of these home today. Jayco Jayfeather SLX.

Was a lot easier than most of the uhaul trailers I've been pulling for the past few years.

Only issue is, I need to add some mirror width. Anybody used any that they'd recommend?

Yes and way more fun but also more $$$. Sometimes we use it for a static display when flying in to a show or fair would just literally blow every else's tents away!
