Topper looks good, fits the truck well. I think someone had one of these threads going a while ago but I'll play.

Here's an old pic but I still have it on there:

    Steve,

nice looking topper and truck you have there. Here is my pyrite/mica aka fools gold in the sun. Pretty much a stock truck.

Here's my Leer 100XL. Thule rack rails installed from the factory.

Don't like how the dust flap at the bottom of the glass is starting to eat into the gate's paint. Gotta find a solution to that - thinking a strip of LineX right where it contacts...

    Cheers,
    Marc

    Hey Marc-

    VentureShield

If you know any place that installs this stuff they could put a strip of it down the trailing edge of your tailgate. Its tuff as nails and crystal clear. I have the front of my truck done. The installer had some left over scrap pieces and so I asked him to install it on my roof windshield pillars. You can't poke a key through it its the only way to go to protect paint IMHO.

Or you could use a strip of "alabama chrome" aka- duct tape! hahahaha! Just kidding.

Unfortunately it's too late for a shield, as the rubber flap has worn past the paint to the primer... Impressive paint depth, despite the fact that it's about as durable as icing on a cake...

But you know, your alabama chrome (love the name!) suggestion does make me wonder... A little black 100MPH tape (also aka duct tape) where I'd like to put the LineX might be a good way to see if I like it...

Second thought was colour-matched LineX for the entire tailgate, eliminating the worry of rock chips bouncing back from the trailer when towing on gravel.

    Cheers,
    Marc

I'll play too. Here's my Leer 100 XQ that I've had now for 1 1/2 years. Still looks and performs like new.
