yeah, I'm curious to what was done to make the other one fit. A bit of trimming at the very least.

Just installed mine, and I'm pretty excited to put them to use. I was worried having the bikes on the sides would make the truck feel too wide, but it's not noticeable. They are sturdy and well built for sure. A few things worth mentioning.. The 3rd gens front bedrail cross-member doesn't sit flush with the sides, so getting the front mounts positioned was a bit awkward. Also, if you have a softopper and a thru axle, mounting a bike on the driver side requires you to unfasten the front button. No issue with the product obviously, just the nature of the beast. I may put a rockymounts driveshaft mount on that side to alleviate that issue.

Your setup looks awesome, especially with the Highland sticker!

Regarding the fitment with the center header rail and the side rails - I did see that on some but it was maybe less than 1/16" in my experience. It seems Toyota has some generous tolerances when installing the center header rail :anonymous:

P.S. - I'm drooling over your Santa Cruz

Recently ordered and very excited to get them mounted up! I do have a question though, I've read through a few times but haven't come to a consensus as to what people are doing for security of bikes? I know their are a few lockable mounts out there for thru axle, but curious if anyone has come up with anything different.

Fiiiiiinally got a chance to put these on. Great product! I have it positioned for my full suspension bike, the shorter dirt jumper will need some adjusting to fit (as expected).

Also, I pulled the clamp off the back and hit it with some black paint. The silver was bugging me lol

Glad you like the mounts! Thanks for the feedback regarding the rear mount and having to adjust for different wheelbase bikes.

I have a new rear version coming out soon that will be larger to hopefully solve that issue. I might make them available for purchase as well!

Thanks for your interest! I will have the Tacoma Mounts in stock hopefully in the next 2-4 weeks. I made some design changes for the next version that I think everyone will love!

Just saw this! So most folks get a lockable fork mount, but I do provide a thru hole in the rear mount for a cable lock to be used around the frame / back wheel.

Yea, a small “tray” type of rear mount may allow better flexibility. For me I don’t take my small bike on trips so I probably won’t ever have to move it lol

Just took a week long trip to the black hills in SD. Climbing and biking, got multiple compliments on the bike set up. Absolutely no complaints!

No visibility or headwind issues. I used the Rocky Mounts LoBall rack and I didn't realize my boyfriend had a thru axle bike so we had to adapt but no worries, we did with a few extra bolts.

    Highly recommend!

Hey @Nimble9 - been thinking about the DB version which looks to mount under the cover itself which I fear would compromise the weather seals and let rain leak through. (btw, I just emailed you via the contact form on the site, which I saw before this thread), but what I was thinking (with regards to using the existing cleat mounts) was this. Obviously not to scale or anything, just something I whipped up in a couple minutes while I typed this out.

Those holes would be where the DB cleats would mount through, (or the rockymount fork mount).

I could 100% make that, and add some gussets where apropos.

I'll need to get my hands on a DB cover truck again hehe

Once mine comes in I can provide all the hole locations for the cleats. I assume the cover for the long bed has cleats spaced differently than the short bed by a few inches, but maybe it’s possible to design a back tray that fits either with a channel for that rear mounting.

Come up to MA, take all the measurements you want.
I have a long bed version I can take measurements off of, if you have a short bed.
