Significance in color of mirrors/handles????

I thought I had this figured out and that it was certain years that they made the handles and mirrors on our taco's black. Then I saw certain 2009+ taco's having black mirrors again but now I see '12 taco's having color matched ones and I'm tripping out.

Now I'm starting to think that it's with certain packages like say a fully loaded taco will have color matched handles/mirrors....maybe..


ah anyone know? Why do the taco's with black mirrors and handles have them instead of color matched?


P.S. I just like to know everything about taco's and that's why this bothers me.

 

I have a 2009 Base 4x4 Double Cab, they come with Black Mirrors, Fender Flares, and door handles.

 

Only TRD sport models come equipped with color matched door handles, side mirrors, and flares. TRD off road and non-TRD models have black door handles, side mirrors, and flares.

 

*Off-roads have color matched flares....Easiest way to tell them apart, a base model has black flares, black bumpers, black grill....sport models have color-matched everything, and off-roads have chrome bumpers, chrome grill.

 

The SR5 package also has colour matched flares, chrome grille and chrome bumper.

Do not forget about the x-runner they are similar to the trd sport

 

Also this is a very popular mod with many going to the color matched look.

 

i have a TRD OR. But instead of going color match bumper i painted the chrome black.

I do like the color match however

 

I like just a little bling, chrome grill surround, door handles...from a 4runner? You know for the ladies, or just living in Mexico too long.
