Ok I have some questions to ask Please bear with me..

    1. My VIN contains 1GR does that mean it's a 1st generation? My model / year 2006 Access Cab 4x4 Tacoma TRD V6 (not Sport)

    2. I don't put many miles on my truck.. currently 34050.. I bought the Taco new in June 2006.. I do all my own oil changes ands had the 30k service done by my dealer ( big cost mistake) Do I need to replace my extended life anit-freeze?

    3. On the same note as above , when should I replace my lubricants . Transmission, Transfer case, rear diff. ?

    4. Reccomended belt/s change?

    Thanks guys..

No, 2005+ is considered the '2nd Generation' body style.

    2. I don't put many miles on my truck.. currently 34050.. I bought the Taco new in June 2006.. I do all my own oil changes ands had the 30k service done by my dealer ( big cost mistake) Do I need to replace my extended life anit-freeze?

Your call. I'm at 36,000 and haven't replaced it yet. I'll check the manual but will most likely change it at 50,000.

    3. On the same note as above , when should I replace my lubricants . Transmission, Transfer case, rear diff. ?

If the dealer did the 30,000 mile service, I believe they should have changed the transfer case and differentials. Check your work receipt. If not, the manual tells you when Toyota recommends you change these fluids. Personally, I changed my transfer case fluid and front/rear end fluids at 30,000. You'll get mixed reviews on the transmission fluid. I'm changing mine at 50,000 because I don't tow and am fairly nice to my truck. If you run it hard or do a lot of city driving, a change at 30,000 miles couldn't hurt. Apparently Toyota dealers are saying never change your transmission fluid so again, your call. (I'm not buying it, I'm changing it at 50,000)

EDIT: sorry, didn't realize you have a TRD. If you have LSD or a locker, the intervals for the rear end fluid are shorter. I believe every 15,000 miles per the manual. sorry about that.

    4. Recommended belt/s change?

Not sure, I'd check your manual and give them a visual inspection. If they look ok, you're probably fine. Check for cracking, wear (check width and if the sides are frayed)

If you paid the 300+ that I got quoted for the 30k mile service then you got severely ripped off and I'd want to have a chat with that service manager. I'm almost in the same boat with the battery, almost 4 years old but I'll just wait til I have a reason to replace it. Again, you'll probably get mixed reviews about that but it's a personal preference. To me, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I would suggest to check into an optima battery red top , well worth the money. Have been using optma's for over ten years and never had a problem and I live in vegas
