Hey guys, recently got an 05 Prerunner that's silver. Was wondering if any of you guys with silver trucks have any advice on waxing/buffing? Does it make a difference with this paint color? I feel like it might just look the same when I'm done and don't want to waste my time. If you do know a good way, please let me know what you use

The nice thing about the silver is that it hides dirt very well; too well in fact. I often go longer than I would like between washes because it doesn't stand out. However it also doesn't seem to look as "clean and shiny" as the other colors do when clean. I still wax mine and I can tell the difference, and definitely get more compliments when it's waxed, so others must notice too?

I agree. The dark colors are more impressive when detailed. They also require the most regular attention.

X2 on the Liquid Glass. I've used it for over 20 years...Great finish. Easy on, easy off.

I just clayed my 2014 pyrite mica and am blown away by the difference it made. Do the windows too. Super easy and doesn't take long. Just another step and very worthwhile. Get the meguires or mothers clay/detail spray combo pack for about $20. Walmart, autozone- they all have it. Wash, clay, wash, wax, and I bet you'll see a major improvement on a 2005! You can spend $10 or $90 on wax/sealers. Pick one that fits your budget. Honestly, any wax/sealer you choose will be an improvement. A carnauba based product will likely look the best. Synthetics will last longer but won't look quite as nice (typically). Either one will work.

I just clayed and waxed my silver. I did a thread on it. Search "to clay bar or not".

I've had an 02 lunar mist and now a 12 silver mica, used Klasse polish and sealant with good results.
