Thanks @treyus30 definitely seems worth considering, just not the way I went with my Tacoma.

If you have any dings or bends and/or missing clips the new parts are also nice and straight and do come with all new clips.

I will admit its more satisfying to just plug and play, but I pick my money battles carefully. For me, a minor trim piece isn't worth the asking price

    Glad you got it done!

Keep in mind all OEM parts will not be available forever for these trucks, I have seen many parts I needed for my old first gen that are no longer made already over the last year.

They do not usually get cheaper either from what I can tell.. Check out this thread for some mind boggling parts prices on these trucks I have come across on parts no longer made yet still available new!

Does anyone know the part number for the black clip on the trim piece just above the door handle. Also, the part number for the molding that wraps around the extior of the window from the clip all the way around to the other side by the mirror. Thanks

Just order these for my truck. Yikes $53.85 cdn each. Mine look good cosmetically but are hard and water runs down into door. Figured i would buy these before there discontinued and bottom of door starts to rust. Nice write up op, thanks

Well done thank you! It’s a small detail but makes a huge difference in terms of the truck looking clean

    Had a 2002 DC, now a 2004 DC.
This is a great thread. My trim is in decent shape, and I just noticed I am missing one of the plastic clips on the right rear door of my double cab. Is the part number 68212-04020 the correct part for that? The diagram/description was less than helpful.

Anybody have a good source for these today? Everything I've looked at is $35 per at the low end.

Finally got a chance to put these on—bought them months ago and gosh is it satisfying and so much cleaner. While removing the side mirror isn’t strictly necessary, I think it makes the job easier and it also makes it a lot easier to clean the mirror and the seal that goes between the mirror and the door.

I also put a light coat of silicon plastic restorer on the new trim so that hopefully the black film doesn’t burn off too fast—this was a Vegas truck for most of its life so I had no idea the trim wasn’t chrome originally (all chrome when I bought it a few years ago).

I did the other side this evening and it looks so much better. I also stripped off the clips from the old ones—anyone need them? Would be helpful if you’re repainting the trim instead of replacing.

Does anyone's weather stripping on the drivers-side window fold over when rolling the window down? Mine sort of sucks itself into the window. Truck is pretty much brand new

This thread deals with the 1st gen Tacoma weather strip. If your truck is a brand new 3rd gen, I'd take it back to the dealer.

Weatherstrip on both doors replaced today with the oem parts. Hardest thing was removing the old strips, but nothing a little extra effort wouldn't overcome. I'm glad these were still available.

I also got the rubber plug for the hole in the rear chrome bumper.

Skipping over the (tempting) innuendo, do you happen to have the part number for the bumper plug?

Did you end up using PT22835985SM or a non-OEM/Home Depot plug approach? As discussed on the other thread, PT22835985SM comes up with a square picture but some folks say it comes round apparently--curious what you used.
