Lol. Doubt it's as bad as mine. Part of the rubber felt strip is sucked in. The regulator tracks are all dirty and dry. The tint was all scrathched up and peeling off so I peeled it all off and there's still old tint adhesive All over the window. So when I roll the window up or down I get a combination of rubbing and nails on chalkboard screaching. Lmao. Too lazy to get it taken care of rn.

Everybody seems very happy, but I'm confused. The OP started off talking about the metal trim, then went on about the rubber seal. Then he states it's called weatherstrip. Is the metal trim and rubber seal components combined together under a single part number or are they separate pieces ?

I just painted mine with bedliner. But I may have to get these just in case the rubber window scraper dries out.

Cool deal, thanks for the clarification. I'll wait to do mine once the rubber seal needs replacing.

It is all one piece. Go back and look at the close-up pictures carefully.

Yes thanks for tipping us off that it's that reasonable to just replace them, I've been dreading pulling them to paint and wondering how well it would hold up on the chrome.

Thanks for this. Finally got around to doing this. Driver's side was a pain in the butt to get off, but passenger side popped right off.

Yes! I've dug up this thread 3 times trying to get this fixed and each time I lose it! I am definitely watching it now so I can do this soon!

I picked up a complete set for my '01 Double Cab 4x4 from my local dealer today. They charged $30.10 each with a Military discount. Here are the part numbers (no indication which is which):

    68210-04020
    68160-04020
    68180-04010
    68230-04010

If that helps anyone find better pricing elsewhere, go for it - and report back here with a link.

I just replaced all four pieces on my '01 double cab. I was going to shoot a how-to video, but I got caught up in the process and had the entire job done in less than 5 minutes. It's SERIOUSLY easy (and no need to remove the mirrors).

Just replaced the driver's door weatherstripping. Yes, very easy, even without removing the mirror. Only detail not mentioned is that the white clips on the new strip did not line up with the slots on the door so the first time I tried to get it in place, the strip did not seat correctly. After I slid the clips to line up with the (partially hidden) slots, it clipped right into place.

Every Taco in Colorado suffers from crappy door trim because of 300 days of sun. Thanks for the great write up.
