I'll dig up pics. I have a Viair mounted in the driver's side cubby and a 2 gallon tank mounted to the underside of the bed nearest that cubby. No issues with the spare tire or driver's side leaf spring (it's tight but there's room). Both the idea for the compressor and the tank came from excellent threads/work by other TWers.

If all your doing is airing up tires, then skip the tank.

Most compressors are sealed so dust ingress is not a problem, mount it pretty much anywhere. I didn't know all that when I did mine and it ended up behind rear seat which was great for me. I am very happy with the way mine turned out and it gets used a lot.

My goal for airing back up was speed so I went with the best performer in the smallest package. It puts out an amazing amount of of air and takes me just over 1 minute to air back up my 33's from 18 to 40.

For wiring I rolled my own. I threw away the ARB wiring harness and supplied switch.

I ran compressor ground to chassis and +12v from battery using 4 AWG welding cable. I bought an 80A relay to stuff in engine room and a $0.10 simple rocker switch in the cab switch to turn it all on.

I documented the shit out of the install in these posts below:

Oh ya definitely, this was a great thread too. All you Viair guys: About how long does it take to air up? Sounds like ARB takes about a minute. I think the Viairs are about 3-4 minutes?

I've never aired up more than 5-6psi per tire, takes about 30 sec per tire. I can run a full test for you if you'd like. I'm running 265-75R16s

A little help from someone with a working ARB twin comp. I just wired up my comp it comes on but has very little air pressure, i have check for leaks cant seem to find any. Manual dosent really have anything about no pressure. It never shuts off like it says it should in the manual any help would be great!

I read a report a couple weeks ago that had a similar symptom on a brand new compressor. Turned out it had internal damage, the check on one of the pistons was bad and not holding air. You may want to call ARB directly and see what they say , I have heard nothing but great things about their customer service.

Did you remove the red caps over the inputs, and install the filters in their place?

Looking at the picture the motor on the left is not running, the connector does have power going to it.
