I love mine, I see the lack of power options is a plus. Especially if you have replaced as many window motors and lock solenoids as I have.

I have finally got the interior where I want it. I added the variable wipers, cruise control (which is a PITA for a non-prewired 2011), and changed the angle of my bench seat.

    I agree!

Really, the 2011 is not prewired for cruise?! It was so easy on my `08.

Interesting. Think it may have had something to do with the fact that your 08 is an sr5?

I like for the small size and visibility. Dislike it when my 5'5" wife drives, and I (6'3") get knees in the face. She vary rarely drives it, however... so no biggy. I put a tonneau on the back for a large, waterproof(resistant?) space. Fits nicely in my short-ish garage.

Still think they could've put a 60/40 split seat in it......

I love my Reg Cab 4x4. Very happy with it. I prefer the traditional single cab look of trucks - streamlined and utility-oriented. A place to sit and a place for your s***. If you want interior storage, get an SUV.

For a single cab truck, the cab is roomy, and I actually find the bench seat comfortable. Very tight turning radius and sporty handling for a truck - parking is easy in cities, you can whip right into tight spots - I don't have to do nine-point turns pulling into a parking lot like double cab trucks and SUV's often have to do. 4 cylinder Tacomas get the most MPG of any 4x4 truck commonly found in the US, if I'm not mistaken. If you're in a city, you do need to take anything that happens to be in the truck bed and put it in the cab if you won't be around. If this will bother you, then get an access cab.

Also, it's a big plus that you are never the guy who has to drive everyone around on social occasions. Just you and your girl :D

For the manual windows/locks, I've got a 2010 SR5 4x4, and I am surprised and often annoyed that it didn't come with power windows/locks/cruise. Tends to be a pain when you drive across a buddy who's off on the right side, and you have to lean across and crank the damn window down. Yes, crank windows are more reliable. However, Toyota, it's 2010. Come on now. Not a huge issue, but it's something I would change if I could.

In the end, if you're stuck trying to decide between regular and access cab, flip a coin. Once the coin's in the air, you'll immediately know what you really want ;)

The reg cab would be a lot nicer if you could get the SR5 package so it would not be so plain jane.

Yes. However, the bench seat can go straight to Hell, and I was hoping for some options on the options list. You like my OEM fog lights? Also, not an option... Why the SR-5 pkg. isn't available is just dumb. In CA, not having cruise control or an adjustable seat is killing my back. I'm not a Lego guy.

I've thought of adding OEM fogs off eBay. You like em? They bright enough and wide enough to do any good??

I like mine. Added cruise and a better radio and sub. Bench is fine for me. 12hr drives; no problem.
Power stuff just quits at the worst possible time.

Alright, the fog lights are good for now, but they're Chinese and I expect nothing. I went through a lot of trouble finding a proper kit, and it isn't even all that proper. They said it was for 2011, but was really for '06-'08 Tacoma. It cost $107 for the kit(K2 Motor), $150 install, $71 for Genuine Toyota fog light button, and $8 for the proper connection. It fits, it works, and it makes the truck look slightly more sporty. It's still $514 cheaper than dealer quote...
SR5 pkg. is NOT at all available on 2010-12 reg. cab. You've got an '08 and are lucky.
And, getting a "not white" truck took 5 mo. In CA, the baby Tacos are used as company fleets. So most of the reg. cabs are white, manual trans., and barer bones. As far as it goes, my truck is fully loaded, less 4X4 and Bluetooth...
