Single DIN Question

I am a complete car audio virgin but I'm finally ready to break up with my stock non-JBL radio. I never post but I lurk here on a daily basis. Most of my questions have been answered but I have one that may be too dumb to even ask. I've been searching for a single din HU and I fell in love with my friends Kenwood KDC-x996. It has everything I need without being over the top. Unfortunately when I looked it up on crutchfield it said it wouldn't fit. I knew this would be an issue for double dins but never thought it would be a problem with single din HU. Is it simply because they don't make a dash kit for it or is it the dimensions of the hu itself that don't make it compatible with my truck? It's a 2006 double cab by the way. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a dumb question but its bugging me because I had my heart set on that HU.

 

I installed that exact HU a month ago and love it. It fits fine.

I pm'd Darren and he's working on clarifying which flip-down single DINs fit.

 

Thanks for the reply. Thats better news than I expected! Looks like I'll be getting my hands on one soon now that I know it fits. Do you have any pics of it installed in your truck?
