I wonder if anyone in the Houston area has a 1st gen that they'd volunteer for a test vehicle

I would volunteer BUT at 1900 miles each way ;)...thats a "Road trip"....Then again I do have family in Houston:).....

You do know once these actually get seen in person by the "Toyo" crowd things might get busy.........

One last question, the "laser cuts" are custom BUT how much extra for a "different" cut???....You know how Toyota owners like to "Customize".;)....

Haha yeah, that would be a pretty rough drive. Well i suppose that it depends on the design. I'd have to take it on a case by case. I guess I'll ball park it at about 30-40 for a custom cut since there will be some extra design work done.

I'm sure my powdercoater has a blue in stock.. I'll ask him specifically about the speedway though.

Is the stock silver plate you're referring to the skid plate or the shiny piece that comes up in the front and covers the bumper a bit?

It should fit any 2nd gen taco and doesnt interfere with the tow hooks. So it should work for yours. You might check to see if it has the mounting brackets on there though. If not then you'll need to order them before the skid plate will work.

Thanks rusty, I'll definately keep you posted.

I am going to be working some diff protection this weekend. one option will be a separate cover to go with this style, the 2nd option will be a long 1 piece skid.

May be interested in the two piece design depending on price for the separate diff skid. Would want unfinished and no TRD cut

How's things going with the plates? You ever get somebody with a 1st gen to commit for measurements? If not, I can ask a few people at work if they are willing...

Here is a pic of the skid plate with the bedliner done:
    skid2_fdf204895032b12542955f9cf38658d1bcd8bf4c.jpg

I used red rustoleum to paint a piece of aluminum to mount behind the cutout
    skid3_92f640d93df31abdde441e6129ddeb95c67b5bf1.jpg

I mounted the aluminum with epoxy, here's the finished product! I'll post pics of it mounted later...waiting for the black paint to dry on my washers...
