I'm running Bud's skidplates and they are amazing. I smashed the hell out of my truck last weekend and the skidplates didn't flinch. The entire truck repeatedly came crashing down onto jagged rocks with zero damage.

Factory or aftermarket? The BudBuilt skidplate has a hole specifically for accessing the drain plug.

I have searched the forum for installation instruction for the silver TRD Skid Plate, but I have not had any luck.

If anyone has the instructions would you please post them.

    Thanks.

Here is a close up. I will look to see if I can find the instructions. If I remember right it only attaches with the two bottom bolts. The upper two have two black strips that run down the backside and tie into the bottom two. Hell hold on and I will go look. leave the factory one in place!

okay I just went out and looked at mine, the two upper bolts do not attach to the truck. They should be attached to two brackets that run along the backside of the skidplate. Take two forward bolts out of the standard one and those run through the bottom holes of both and into the frame.

Look at the pictures that have been posted and hold yours in place. You will see the correct holes if you do.

I had my skid plate off today and was shocked at how flimsy it really was. Just more reason why I need to get some actual skids after I get sliders.

BTW. Pic from my new Rant cell phone. I'm amazed at the quality of this camera

I don't know why I was so concerned about installing the TRD Skid Plate. Very very easy to do. Took about 20 minutes if that.

All you need is a 12 mm socket....

There are four bolts that hold on your stock (black) skid plate.

The two in the rear will need to be loosened (Not Removed).

The two (2) bolts at the front will then need to be removed. These will not be used since the TRD skid plate comes with longer bolts and spacers.

After you have loosened or removed the above noted bolts take the TRD Skid Plate and slide it under the two loosened rear bolts. Raise the front of the skid plate and screw in the bolts.

My TRD Skid Plate had the bolts and spacers attached to the plate. All I needed to do was start tightening.

Note: I left the stock skid plate on the truck.
