Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Well said Madjik Man. I was going to say something professional like "skygear is good people and if you don't agree then you suck."

Maybe you shouldn't do business online. Don't ruin it for the rest of us because you didn't get what you wanted. These things should be handled on a personal level, and if you don't like the results, a passive aggressive heads up like "be aware your order may be delayed" should be in order.

Unless he straight up lied or took the money and ran, this isn't warranted. Before you say "he did lie," how do you know he wasn't just mistaken? As the common theme seems to be that he is over his head here, that's not a far fetched idea.

I get what you're saying. But I never said he was screwing people out of money or product. Do I think I'll get a box? Yes! Just tell me a honest excuse! Like "I don't have the time to get these boxes built and shipped out like I'd like" And on another note I've waited in excess of 140 days not 40.

He wasn't mistaken because its been multiple times! The latest example was when he was on his instal trip he met up with a guy that ordered a box on the spot when they met, sky then built a box on the spot, ordered, built and purchased. Sky had just said on his thread the reason for the continued outstanding orders was because he had no relays. So...???? That was just one of many examples I could site. I'm not an ass hole! I would NEVER have said anything negative about sky if I hadent already gone through several avenues of communication to try and dissolve this situation. Thus my built up frustration. Also it's not about not getting what I wanted, its about morals and ethics.... Look at JC1980 for example, ordered in December can't get sky to give him an update, he now just wants his money back. Been trying for weeks now, but still sky won't contact him in any way either for an update or to refund his money.

You are very well informed of my frustration with my ordeal as is one other member (name is escaping me, but he too was in the same boat as me). I kept that all within PMs though. Never once did I shit on skygear in any public thread. I also expressed my frustration with skygear, to skygear, in emails, texts and voicemails. Hell you and I talked (or texted?) about this and the fact I wouldn't publicly shame him. Maybe it has something to do with me being almost twice your age or something. :p

As for the OP calling him a crook:

Take that into consideration with the OP, the second post and the OP's response to the second post and you see where I'm coming from.

Therein lies my biggest frustration with skygear. This is a hobby for him from which he'll profit just a little bit. He does not have it set up as a business in terms of systems. I emailed him once giving him advice on how to at least implement a better communication system, especially as it pertains to this forum. Yet his product and service has taken on a "business" like feel on TW... which he should effectively communicate it is not. Hell, he's not even a vendor on this site nor does he have a "vendor" status under his username. That should speak volumes to members.

This is where I'll disagree. If one feels it necessary to start a new thread to bash his communication, or lack thereof, sure... go at it. But as you can see he is portraying skygear as a crook. That is not cool, IMO.

If I could have plagiarized skygear's fuse box like I did Boxrocket's bedrack I would have. :anonymous: But alas.

Speaking of all this shit... try to make some time to come here before you head up the the Boat. That way we can bitch and gripe in unison when installing this thing.

I quoted your post but qualified it as "members" calling him a crook and claiming he'll screw people over. That was not geared towards you rather the OP and the second post of this thread. Sorry if that was ambiguous.

Same goes for the "40 days" comment.

Trust me, your frustration was warranted and as I just said I expressed mine to a couple of posters here. Just privately.

I think we should all just take a chill pill until Skygear can log on and defend himself. This is getting nowhere.

My chill pill arrived a month ago in the form of a fuse box, advanced wiring harness, switch backs, and Cobra 75 quick disconnect. I've been very chill since :)

Waytek is where i got all the parts for mine from. They are a bit annoying with some of the minimums they want on connectors but you can make it work pretty well! I wanted a "5 pin" weatherpak but you had to order like 10 minimum when i needed 2. But for the main components (box, metri-280's, relays) you can order just as many as you need. I ended up with the "2 pin" weatherpak connectors and ended up with some extra. It was fun to build my own and i helped a couple other people do theres too!

As for the Skygear debate....i think the OP has every right to let others know to beware based on his and some others experiences. The key being to WARN others. Not tell people off just share experience. You get a great product but currently poor communication. Its worth letting other people know that IMO.

Sounds like another TW intervention is needed.

^^^^Yeah I like how TW came together and helped those two guys out to get their monies back! Problem here is that sky has this group of followers that think he can't do a single shady thing. So there will be no teamwork of "coming together" to help out a few fellow members on this deal...

I wonder how many TW people are wanting these boxes. I made my own and have thought of making some more. Just feel weird about it since it wasnt "my idea".

    Prefer the term "friend."

Skygear, in good faith, traveled across the US to do custom installs for TW Members that were no shows, IE didnt pay for his travels. He's also more than likely on a domestic terrorist watch list. I don't think the DHS and FBI were too happy with his cross continental trip and wouldn't be to surprised if he's being investigated again.

I still trust Skygear and I'm still super interested in getting work done by him, but I will admit he should pop in and say something, "Hey guys, I'm back, shit's going on, I'm working on these as I can, NO REFUNDS".
