Love it so much! Its for a 93 ranger I found out because it doesnt fit over the sides completely but still looks amazing! I went to a couple places to see how much they would charge to put a headliner in and they told me $700 I was like ughh..... f that. So I am going to be doing it myself later down the road. Also have plans for a prinus toprac for it too

Yeah I don't blame you there! Im a diy kind of guy myself. Here's a good thread I read not too long ago with a member on here who added his own windows and headliner! might be of some use for when you get started! I love the idea of putting reflectix below the carpeted headliner. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/camper-shell-build.476020/

Thanks man! Thats a good idea for the reflectix! I'll have to be doing it though with the shell on the truck because I cant lift it myself.

If you plan on building it out to sleep in it, another thing you might consider using reflectix for is to do some DIY blinds. I made some for mine and love the way they turned out! Keeps things much cooler in there during the summer.. Heres a few pics. I think I spent 25 bucks total on a roll of it, and then just made cardboard cut outs (templates) and used sticky Velcro to attach them.

Oh thats a sweet idea! For your cap did you have to take your bed rail caps off? Mine make the cap sit a little high on the sides so I had to throw some 2x2 AC insulation behind the cab.

No sir, mine's a leer 100r but it just sits on top of bed rails and there's a fiberglass trim piece near the bottom that covers the sides of the bed caps as well.

Yea thats what I figured. I think the sides area a little too tall but the ac insulation works just fine now :D

wait a second.. is this to prevent the cap from rubbing the back of your cab? or what do you mean when you say the sides sit a little high? im confused lol :anonymous:

edit: do you mean the side rails are too tall so it makes the cap sit higher than the cab?

Notice the difference in height from the back of the cab and the shell? There is the exact height difference of the bed rail caps at the front of the truck

ahh, this makes more sense. Have you considered maybe ripping a 2x4 long ways (if you have access to a table saw) and trying to fit it in there on top of the front of the bed? Might be able to close the gap up a little more and then use some type of rubber gasket material between the wood piece and the front of the shell..

I just used 2x2 ac insulation to fill the gap and it worked perfectly :D

Even better! makes more sense what you did now that I've seen the pictures. I think I remember reading somewhere about taking the bed caps off before installing a shell, but I'm not too sure of how the paint would hold up. Looks like you came up with a better solution!
