Which bolt ons are the widest? I need something that sticks out enough to keep the door dingers away.

Does it hurt to leave them naked? I mean, most of the ones I see are painted or powder coated-I have a white truck and like the look of the raw steel. Will it oxidize or rust? I suppose I could clear coat them, but other than cosmetics and to cover up the welds, is there any reason to paint or powder coat them? Anyone else run naked ones?

They'll rust right the fuck out if exposed to moisture.

Sometimes folks in the southwest get away with naked sliders because their rig is garage kept and they get very little precip down that way.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
OP: Any thoughts on adding two bits of info on the first page: Location of each company, and a link to each company's page? Would help immensely (I had to scroll through all pages for links. Still no idea where each is located, which would be nice if I wanted to swing by and have a look-see of the physical pieces...and for shipping).

Speaking of location: Anyone have a list of all the SoCal slider builders, or weld shops that have experience doing sliders? (OP: Would also be a good addition to the first page.....). I like putting my hands on things before dropping the cash.

I'm not a serious off road person, but I like the idea of protection when taking out my atvs and parking in a parking lot. I have 2012 standard cab and would rather have a bolt on application. I have looked around but not sure who has the best bolt on. Many of these companies don't even offer a slider for regular cabs. Help me decide the best bang for my buck.
