I’ll put another vote out for Metaltech Sliders. Get them on, have some fun while you figure out what route you want to take with the lift.

Nothing is wrong with them. They are tucked up nice and high where you want sliders but my fiancee would appreciate sliders that double as steps.

Even more reason for me to get sliders lol. This is also my daily, so protection during the weekday parking lots would be good. I only take it off roading on the weekends, so I guess its protection from all of it.

The argument is often made it will protect from door dings. That is partially true. But there are a lot of car doors that are still going to be able to come in contact with the body before hitting the slider.
My opinion is the sliders are good for steps and sliding(haven’t got to try this yet).

    I'll keep that in mind.
I hit my skid a little the other day, so I think I need to work on my routes a little, but need the protection for sure.

Sliders are especially important in the NW with our tight trails.

This guy preaches the truth! Anyone in the NW that says you don’t need sliders clearly only cruises gravel roads and doesn’t wheel on any of the actual trails.

Hell I use my sliders all the time on moderate trails out in tillamook state forest. Our trucks are so long pivoting off trees on tight corners is a regular part of wheeling around here.

My buddy recently got a Lexus GX and he was so thankful for his sliders the first time we went out and his wheelbase is a foot shorter than my access cab.

Sliders were the first mod I got before my lift. So yeah, unless you're doing just wide open FS roads, sliders with kickouts should be on the top of your list if you dont want to jack your cab up. Definitely get sliders with a kick out so you can

I've definitely been some places I wished I had sliders. Woulda made me feel a LOT better. And if something happens I'm gonna feel really dumb since I have sliders waiting for paint and install in my shed...

Also, don't do your lift until you know what you'll be hauling. Weight adds up FAST when you start having a RTT, armor, camp supplies, etc. You wouldn't want to stick in an AAL or a new leaf pack only to find out it's nowhere near beefy enough. And don't underestimate your truck WITHOUT a lift. I'm still running OEM sized tires and get plenty of places. My lift is mainly from my Deavers, which were strictly purchased for load carrying capacity (700-1000lbs full time). If i want to wheel harder, I'll use my SxS rather than risking my truck.

BTW, I'm also nearby. Just down in Kent.

I went down and got the metaltech sliders last week and had them on for the weekend.

I'll probably be doing sliders next, since I've already scraped my oem ones a little.

After that, I'll be getting some kind of hard bed cover and RTT set up so we can have a better sleeping arrangement while camping.

Thanks for all the help guys! If you have any recommendations on the other items, let me know!

I got sliders before my lift, but only cause of an excellent deal I took advantage of. ($500 for sliders + weld on install)

Just got my lift put on yesterday. I'd do lift first.
