So today i found myself in Hemet for work and decided to purchase some AllPro sliders for my ride....drove home, painted them and then noticed that the base plates did not have the gussets welded on them!

So needless to say, i was pretty pissed...both at myself for not noticing it and at AllPro for telling me they had six complete sets ready for sale.

My Question is, how much strength do the gussets provide? I really don't want to have to drive back up there to get them exchanged.

AllPro is going to give me a call tomorrow to see what they can do but want to know if the gussets are worth the hassle.

    Thanks guys

    ummm yeah
gussets yes!....they should install them for you now that this happened
but maybe they assumed you had the welding down yourself????

yeah, I'm by no means bad mouthing AllPro. Just upset that i may have to drive back to Hemet to get the gussets welded on.

I don't wheel ridiculously hard but would like to be able to use a Hi-lift in the future.

I'm hoping that AllPro will propose a decent alternative to me driving up there

If you do end up driving up there maybe they'll hook you up by welding them on for cheap, if not free. Worth a shot.

Agreed, but it's hard to get things for free these days.

Gussets are apart of the sliders. They better do it for free.

Oh, I'm not saying to weld on the gussets. That is a given. I'm saying for them to weld on the sliders.

K, so AllPro sent me the missing gussets and now have to figure out a place to get them welded on.

Do any of you have recommendations in the San Diego area?

At least they sent you the gussets. I have done business with Jame (Truck Shop),he is a real good guy and will make sure you are happy with his work.

They'll probably work just as good without the gussets. They probably only stick out about 2" onto the tube, but since you have them now, may as well put 'em on. I think most guys just like seeing them and think they make a big difference when they probably don't make much of a difference at all.

I'm at the truck shop right now and James is going to weld the gussets on the plates and weld the plates to the frame so it will be much stronger. Little pricey but I've heard good things about the quality so can't complain.

Thanks for the heads up guys!

wow, thats two for two for old thread revival Mario.

i installed the sliders myself (bolt-on) then got them welded on by the truck shop. i think i paid $150 for BMC and the sliders welded on.
