Hmm... I saw around here somewhere that there's a secondary rear window lock mod... Very simple, just put a piece of wood or metal long enough to jam the window closed on the interior.

    hell yes.

yup .... my old truck didnt have a slider and if i wasnt going slow i couldnt throw em out the window into the bed without missing.

yup, i got 4% over the factory 20% so i generally cant see shit backing up at night, deff comes in handy for that.

... anyhow, i never thought id use it as my old truck didnt have one, but i also used it to haul new rain gutters a couple days ago.

Be careful, I saw a guy carrying lumber like that at HD. He hit the brakes and cracked his windshield when the lumber shifted.

    I second that!

Yeah, in the event you might have to break into your truck, this is the easiest and least espensive to replace. Did it many times in my old truck, the latch was an easy cheap fix, never broke the glass but I would imagine that if I did it would be rather cheap to replace.

A dog window basically, so he can stick his head in and slobber over the back seats.

I like having the rear slider for all the above reasons, except when I have leaves or debris fall into the bed. They seem to get sucked right into the cab once I get going.. Anybody else notice this?

Yeah, in my buddies truck he had a crushed soda can in back that came flying through and nailed the front windshield, still don't know how it didn't crack the window.

That is because of the vortex that is created in the bed of your truck as you drive...

nope you usually have to buy the entire window most glass places wont just get you the one piece that broke.

and yes this is my first truck with a slider and on days i want to open it i make sure to sweep out the bed.

If there is dew on the roof of the truck (or it rained recently) I would recommend driving for a few minutes at speed to clear off the water...otherwise your dash and windshield will get shotgunned with water.
