    great post. this is one of the reasons why i hate to use lug-centric wheels. it takes a little more effort to dismount and mount your wheels back on and avoid vibration issues. hence the reason, i always recommend hub-centric wheels as well as adapters/spacers.

    ET lugs help, but purchasing hub-centric wheels in the first place can help avoid these headaches.

    it is a little difficult b/c most companies out there make a "one size fit all" type of deal. they all usually have 108mm or 110mm hub opening and our tacoma's hub bore is only 106mm.

    one of the reasons why i have started what i've started is b/c of this very issue of not being able to find nice hub centric wheels. proper fitment and clean styling is what i'm trying to achieve.

    nevertheless, even with new tires, it can be a pita to get properly balanced. i've seen brand new tires rebalanced 3-4 times and it would still be off. some tires are just bad from the factory so don't eliminate this factor especially when you're dealing with huge mud tires.

    Incorrect. Acorn lugnuts are used to center non-hubcentric wheels (hence the taper). The extended thread is meant for thick wheels where the stud threads exposed is too short for safety. The shank of ET lugnuts is not meant to center the wheel (often it doesn't touch the wall of the lug hole). Your vibrations were cured by the hubcentric ring.

    X2 I was going to say the same thing. The extended thread is just to get more threads, the taper part is what centers the lug nut, and the ring is what cured your vibes

    I got one wheel into this fix and this shit happened...

    I have five loose lugs on a wheel, and no damn key to finish until the guys at the place linked in the first post ship me another key. The truck is just sitting in the garage. FML
