Man do I hope this solves my problem. I have a 2012 double cab and own the ATX crawl wheels and have the same annoying passenger seat shake thing at 70 miles an hour. I thought it was possibly the tires being made wrong as Ive had it balanced 3 times and it still does it. Ordered this morning via Amazon......will hope it solves the issue

Well I installed the lugs however the hub rings ordered didn't fit the hub. My hub is slightly larger than the 108. I have a 4 wheel drive model......do you all have 2 wheel drive? Anyone got any ideas?

Does this only apply to aftermarket wheels? I'm running stock and 2 of them if they are in the front cause a horrible vibration. I've been to the shop multiple times for balance and nothing works. I've purchased new tires thinking that it was the bfgs that came on it but still have the issue. Recently bought some take offs from another member and still have the issue... Super annoyed that this $30k truck has a vibration that dealerships say is normal.

Yes. The factory wheels are matched to the hub. No need for hub centric rings.

So stock is Lug centric, but aftermarket everyone does hub centric? Just trying to fix this vibration I've had since the first time it went to the dealership in 2011. I'm super close to saying screw it and trade it in because I feel that an ongoing vibration will cause more issues down the road.

The reason your breaking these keys is they are not ment for hand tools. They are in fact designed for impact guns. I do this for a living also if you try and use your foot on the bar loosening the wheels then the key cocks crooked and splits. I have literally used one of these keys until the inside splines are almost stripped and the outside rounded off from impact guns.

Toyota's are a huge PIA with after market wheels! You have to have hub rings period and the ET lugs don't hurt (extended threads)........And if you can watch next time your at the shop and see what your rubber is balancing at. more than 3 oz it could be all tire related. I have 37's with zero vibration all the way from 0-90 mph. I had a 2004 that vibrated like crazy and it turned out to be the steering column joints were loose. I just tack welded the joint and it stopped. but i don't know if the 2011 had the same style of steering column issue as the 1st gens. I just love the 1st gens. And finally i hate to say it but some wheels are just shitty quality. I've had wheels come bent from the manufacturer........I love to show the customer bent new product on there $40,000.00 car and say well there sending out a new wheel in 3 days sorry!!! F'N Quality inspected my A$%

Just the opposite factory is hub centric and usually aftermarket is lug centric.

This. Hence the need for hub centric rings on most aftermarket wheels.

OP thank you for posting this. This is very valuable information to those with the vibration issue or looking to get wheels. I have owned Toyota trucks for years and have done my fear share of after market wheels with lots of vibration issues. But last year when looking into once again doing after market wheels for my 2nd gen Tacoma I learned all about the hub centric and lug centric. So this time I got wheels that are 106.2 hub centric. If I would have known this years ago I could have saved myself a lot of grief. That's why I love this forum .

You can get whatever wheels you want... That's the whole point of the hub centric rings.

So I'm gonna bring this thread back to life curious if anyone has the method NV wheels, and what size rings they used...if I take out the center caps the rings from the original OP will fit...not sure if I should be taking out my center cap on my wheels just to run these rings... so my truck does get some vibration between 60 and 70 miles an hour... I do like those SCS wheels... I wish I knew about this three years ago when I bought my wheels

Great thread. Has anyone used these in combination with a 1/4" spacer? Not sure if they'll reach the hub with the spacer installed.

Yup I'm having this problem with my Method NV's even though the road force said they were near perfect.

These are the lugs I'm running: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gor-21138etbc

Should I try new lugs or the hug centric rings first?

Get the conical lugs and if you can fit the rings on with your center caps rock em, they wont fit mine w the center caps, my vibration isnt too bad

I’m not running any center caps.. is it possible that the center caps act as hub centric rings?? Lol

Haha i wondered the same thing, i doubt it, but if you dont have the center caps on your wheels then the rings will fit fine...put the right lugs n the center caps on and see what happens lol
