I may attempt something similar. Would be a fun project and make the truck unique. I kinda wanna use something a bit different, because really, sky's the limit. Maybe a wrench in there?

I installed a URD short throw shifter and got that nice click-click feel going from gear to gear with very little play while in gear, as well as I can have whatever size bottle I want in that little "can only" cupholder and not hit it. It does make it a little stiff going into reverse but nothing terrible. Other than my SCS wheels it's some of the best money I've spent on the truck.

Or you could just pull it apart and replace the nylon bushing, re-grease, and replace the old red RTV with new stuff and see if that helps. That's much less satisfactory though if you're a mod addict like me and you need your fix:anonymous:

Anybody find a solution for isolator slop? I took my shifter apart and see that the bushing is bad, the seat is good (surprisingly), and a lot of the slop is from the isolator. Once the bushing is replaced I figure I'll still have slop from the isolator but I don't want to eliminate the isolator completely.

Just a few posts up, someone put a few machine screws through the shifter to stop the slop. Might be worth trying.
