Trailer lights mounted, wiring very temporary to make sure it works and I can use it as a utility trailer soon. Fabbed new sleeved rack, idea being I can jack it up if I want to stuff an ATV on it

I'd definitely add some cross bracing with how much weight will be on those especially if you roll around a lot in your sleep.

I definitely will, the tent will only be used in the lowest position, adjustability is just for transport. I'm just glad to finally have an end in sight, and I can finally haul some crap to the dump

I rarely ever wire up a trailer without a single wtf moment. The fact this one went pretty smoothly was a blessing. All the wires are tucked safely underneath in their own secure spots, safe from rocks and water and whatever else

Added a trailer hitch. Not for towing another trailer obviously, but hitch mounted things might be useful

I actually converted a fold down bicycle carrier into a spare tire carrier.

    It was 4/20

Yeah I'll chop it lower, it was more proof of concept. I have a swing out on the truck, which of course uses the same spare

Got some supports welded in, beefed up some other stuff. Need to get side walls in and paint. Still gotta decide how I want to do the tailgate. I think I might design it to either fold all the way down, or act as an extension to the flat part

    Trailer is taking great shape!

Have you considered adding back up lights? If your truck has the RV, 7 pin connector, the power for back up lights is already there.

In addition, how about thinking about adding fender " sliders"? I usually add them to my longer trailers. They make great step ups as well.Screenshot_20220508-195458.jpg

The steps will happen soon. I don't think I need backup lights though, however, they could always be added.

That trailer is not gonna be fun to back up in the daylight...it's gonna really suck if you have to do it at night with no spotter.

Otherwise, this unit is looking great!

This looks like a great project! I had looked at a trailer a while back but didn’t end up getting it, I don’t have the room.

I’ve had my welder for a couple of years now and I’m still rocking flux core, it’s been handy being more portable but still having the 220V option.

They have wireless backup cameras now, and they aren't that expensive either. However, this is more of a YOLO project, I hadn't even considered backup lights, but I've got some cheap Amazon LEDs I might as well put to use.

Forgot I got the safety chains on too. They've got these cool ready to weld quick release things that make it real simple. I've got a weld on tongue jack arriving tomorrow as well.

And a snafu. Cut about 8" off the spare tire carrier, but looking at it, it's not going to clear the tent. Going to need to cut a few more inches off

For y'all worried about a side step, did it a little different, just because tracking down steel is getting difficult and Home Depot had these 1/4" plates for stupid cheap.

Also, already broke a taillight. I knew something had to happen to it

Mount it like 6 inches higher, then put a little rebar cage around the edge.

Found some cheap wall board at Home Depot, this particular piece had damage so I got a discount knowing I only needed certain sized pieces and could cut around it. I don't think it's super durable, but I just wanted something thin that didn't cost a lot. I also got front marker light in and now I'm rethinking about how I wired it and might rip it all apart again. Time has been short lately, which sucks because there isn't much left
