Any suggestions on touching up some small scratches in my paint?

I am open to any suggestions besides the obvious one to take it to the body shop. haha

Parts dept at your dealership should sell touch up paint. I need to make a trip to mine for that very reason because of a damn rose bush.

Autozone also sells paint pens for certain toyota colors. I was able to find barcelona red for mine and it matches pretty nice. My fiance n the other hand couldn't find her color for her subaru so she had to get a hyper blue paint pen from the dealership. The difference between the pen and her car is kind of noticeable. Thankfully they are only small dots, but still. So just be aware that dealership pens still may not be an "exact" match.

Is it clear coat scratches or deeper scratches? The former could be buffed out with a porter cable, some polishes, and wax. The latter will likely need professional care. Oh and--- :itllbuffout:

Took my truck to a Palm Springs Resorts, my wife and I's first time off since we got married a year ago. First night there, someone smacked their door into mine. No dent but not there's a half inch long 2cm wide patch of paint missing. Morale of the story, vacation is for suckers...

    Lucky suckers...

I always try to compound then wax out any scratches I find. 95% of scratches are just in the clearcoat. After that, you can use a touchup paint pen from AutoZone/Advance, or go to the dealer to get it as well.

I've noticed that I have a few scuffs on my rock sliders and haven't had any door dings on the panel. Moral of the story... sliders FTMFW!

I have predators, they deter about 90% of possible door dings. But eventually if a car is tall enough, or the doors are small enough, they make it through.

Need to see pictures of the scratches.

No one can give you advice on what to do with them until its understood what you’re dealing with.

Scratches that are through the clearcoat or are deep enough to catch your fingernail will not be repairable without a repaint. You can mask them with a buff and glaze.

Small scratches in the clear coat will require a dual action polisher.
You cannot paint correct by hand.

And don’t use by hand polishing/cleaner waxes. And avoid the advice of anyone who tells you to use it. Their information is likely outdated by 3-4 decades.

So your solution is to further this thread with more "...WTF that had anything to do with the OPs question."

Shall we just end the silliness now and be taco bros?
