it does look like "oh shit" handle blanks. Glad i don't have them in mine.

So since it is for auxillary handles I wonder where you would put the other bolt? Perhaps the instructions would say to measure from that over x many inches and poke a hole. lol

 

you could probably get a couple plastic color-matched rivets to fit there and look better.

 

Yeah, that's why I'm not %100 sure, but that is what they are labeled as on mitchell.com which is a pretty good source of automotive information.

 

I know it's not a Tacoma but a 4Runner is close. Here's them in my wife's 4Runner, drivers side only though. The other 3 door's have an assist handle in this location.

 

Hmmm.. I don't think I have one of those boxes on the sides of my rig, but I would add a handle to the passenger side in that location if there were a spot for one. My wife asks me why there isn't on in that spot.

 

They are side curtain airbag.....who wants to make a wager on it?

we must be talkin about two different things.....on my 2011 DC they are for the SRS

It was stated that there are ppl with NO side airbags that have these in the ceiling. Just b/c it has srs airbags does not mean these are FOR the srs airbags. Stamping these may only INDICATE srs airbags are present for emergency personnel. I work for a Hyundai dealer- the A pillars of our cars have caps to pop off that are labelled SRS Airbag on them, but popping them off only allows access to bolts to remove a pillar trim. They notify EMS ppl that airbags are located in that location behind the trim.

well, of COURSE it doesn't come OUT of the little tiny box. The entire headliner over the window gets wrecked as it drops down. Who could honestly think it would come out of a 1" square plastic box???

 

Hit it with a hammer,,it's evil!!

Looks like it's for the fat ass handles, and airbags for other models
