Yes, I know. The most common question on here is usually "How big of tire can I fit" or "Can I run a 325/150-16 Tire without rubbing?" Because this is 'Merika and bigger is better (even though we all drive mid-size trucks *ducks).

No doubt big, burly, manly off-road tires do look cool. But I was very unhappy with the negative aspects of even just the slightly oversized 265/75R16 Tires I was running. I felt like what I lost in performance was not made up in aesthetics.

So, here is a tire-size comparison.

Starting off, my OEM Sport. 265/70R17s, No Lift, stock wheels BFG KO's

Next, we have the first upgrade. FJ Anthracite Wheels 7.5" width with -15mm Offset. 265/75R16 BFJ KO Tires.

Then it was time for a 2" Lift - Progressive AAL, Bilstein 5100s set on the second notch.

And finally, the smaller (I was told they'd look ridiculous) 245/75R16 with Falken Wildpeak AT3W Tires.

Here's another angle, although less complete.

    265/75-16 BFG KO's - No lift:

    245/75-16 Falken Wildpeak AT3W - 2" Lift

So, post up pics of your smaller tires!

OP, you went from stock size highway tires to slightly larger heavy E rated tires, not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

E-Rated BFG All Terrain KOs are highway tires? Wow, I'm really ignorant about tires.

So, let's see here. I went from an AT E-Rated 265/75 to an AT E-Rated 245/75, and in your mind the first E-Rated, AT tire is somehow a smaller, lighter highway tire than the second E-Rated AT tire with smaller numbers stamped into the sidewall.

    Crazy

In the second paragraph you state that you were unhappy with the oversized tires. Did you ever drive it with the stock 265/65r17 tires?

And you were unhappy when you went from stock to the oversized E rated tires?
