Smash and Grab Victim - Would a GBS sensor (PT398-35160) have triggered?

Hey TacomaWorld! Some asshats decided to take run at my col du sac and my truck was one of the victims. They broke the window and grabbed the closest thing available (Smittybilt GEAR organizer) and left everything else, thankfully.

Besides not having anything in the cab anymore, would adding the glass break sensor (GBS) for the factory alarm be a cost effective idea? I have a 2018 TRD Sport and I'm not sure if PT398-35160 would work (V2 or V5). Also not sure if a GBS would have trigged if anything besides the driver window was smashed. Anyone have experience with adding a GBS and having it deter any would be thieves or should I just save my money while practicing better antitheft basics?

    Thanks for any advice

The GBS if it works like the one in the first gen would detect the sound of glass breaking from any of the windows of the cab.

Yes the GBS will go off with a hard tap on any window. As for The right one (V2 V5) there is a thread with that info.

Sorry to hear that man I know the feeling.

Also got the GBS along with some additional cameras outside the house. It helps to be more vigilant, but there is only so much you can do for prevention and deterrance unfortunately.
