I've recently noticed a bad smell in the cabin of my 2003 Toyota Tacoma. I have no clue what could be causing it. I've cleaned the trash out of the cabin and the smell still lingers. I will appreciate any help.

Friends pulling a prank dead fish under the seat

Dead Rodents in the duct work??

Mold living on the dirt covering the heater core?

There's a lotta things (and people) that stink in here.

I'll echo the sentiment mentioned above - give us a hint as to what flavor of stank... dead critter, bad apples, dog poop...?

I’ll certainly check all those. I’m currently taking out the seats and vacuuming the entire carpet. I was told by a friend to check the cabin air filter? I took apart the glovebox and checked near the blower motor but I couldn’t find it. I’m I stupid or does this old truck just not have one?

To old for a Cabin air filter.

Unless your HVAC has been refitted to something much newer !1

It would make things much easier for us to help .

    Your choice Good Luck.

check your firewall by your left foot. mine was leaking water onto the carpet- pull that carpet back if it's wet, or has water damage. That will tell you if you need to silicone any voids in the firewall.

I really can’t tell I’ll I known is it smells bad. While I was cleaning I found quite a few bits of food under the seats and my floor mats are really dirty. In Louisiana our mid actually smells bad so after I’ll clean up and see if the smell is still there

It didn’t smell like that. But it could be possible. I just don’t know how to track the smell
