I like your setup! What load bars are you using to mount the tent to the diamondback ?
I’m waiting for my diamondback cover to arrive, and I still haven’t bought the rack to mount my tent on, which should arrive this Saturday.

Front Runner, here is exactly what I bought. I used a miter saw with aluminum blade to cut the track into sections that would fit each cover. You will have about 4" left over from each track assuming you have small bed, you could put it on center section of DB but I didn't use it on mine.

This setup is based off Mike's over at LLOD https://www.youtube.com/user/concealedcarrytips/about I liked that the tent sits somewhat behind the cab so I still get some MPG :)

Thanks, this is great info! It’s good to see that more people are using this setup that was used by LLOD (as I’m a bit hesitant on just copying him, as his first setup failed). Unfortunately the pickup roll top leg mount is sold out.... I’m wondering if there is a different part I could use instead.

I believe that is a crucial part, that is what connects it to the tracks, reach out to them for an ETA? I think that one failed because it was flat material(more susceptible to flexing) and not an extrusion, obviously I am no expert, and take no responsibility. :) I have had my tent on 3 months so far without any noticeable fatigue (knowing you would need xray equipment to really know), and more time. I check it before I drive by giving it a shove, it always shoves back so far :)

How was the attachment hardware with the “not a prinsu” rack did you have to be modified in any way?

Nope I used all the hardware that came on the tent. You have to pull the wind deflector off to get to the nuts on the front mounts but it’s not too difficult. I currently have it mounted on my bed rack but move it back and forth when I have my dirtbikes in the bed.

I know it’s really late for your post and I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner, I could’ve answered your question. Here’s what I did with my Smittybilt on my Prinsu Cabrak:

Still using mine. Haven't been able to get the LED strip to work reliably, but I like the little UCO lantern a lot better.
Long term use results: I'm very happy with the tent. No durability issues. I did discover that I have to make sure that the tongue and groove interface between the two tent floor halves is fully engaged, but not a big deal. I find reasons to go use the tent, so I would say it's been a good purchase.
The addition of the memory foam pad was critical. It is probably the best thing I've done with it. I leave the Teton bag in, and when it's too warm I just sleep on top. With the sleeping bag, memory foam, and the stock pad there is no problem with a comfortable sleep.
I had problems with condensation, but those were solved by simply opening up the top windows (I keep the rain fly on), and then leaving the side windows half open. No issues since.
Cover has held up very well although one of the Smittybilt labels has faded to white. If I don't get the straps tightened down just so I can get a whistle at highway speeds.

Nice! I mounted my tent above the bed, so now I tote my KTM around on a hitch carrier.

Great write up! Just ordered it today on Amazon for $830 (w/ free shipping and tax included)

Gonna do some yard camping for now while we wait out this pandemic.

Any accessories/additional things I should order for the time being? Already looking into a thinner air mattress to add to the bedding.

I added a memory foam pad and built a power distribution box. I also purchased an annex that I haven't used.

Would the annex work on the non-xl version?

Just received my XL yesterday and I was surprised to find there are 4 supports added to the overhang u-shaped bar. These 4 poles need to be assembled and disassembled each time. I had not seen this in any of the videos I've watched so I imagine it is a new improvement to address the issue that users were having with water pooling on the overhang

Here’s a photo taken from inside the tent looking out towards the overhang. Tent is on my garage floor with the ladder folded up. D781C2A9-5B88-4C84-B569-1E34B6F9369B.jpg

There are 3 poles running front to back (the 3rd one is just outside of the frame to the right) and a 4th pole running left to right. That 4th pole sees to provide the support for the downward pressure that accumulated water would have. But the entire system keeps the overhang pretty taught
