    Thank you for the pictures.

How do the upper supports attach to the tent?
    Thanks

    Cheers

DEC80F17-A730-4005-8A9E-E72A76856DCC.jpg They attach through 3 gussets above the doorway (where the arrows in figure 5 point) which allow them to snap onto the upper support pole. You can see it where the right side arrow in figure 6 is pointing as well.

Those gussets appear to be there just to create a weatherproof seal around the poles.

I have a 2nd gen smittybilt overlander XL that is in ok condition. someone offered me to trade it for the regular size 1st gen version of the tent that is in better condition. I have a tacoma with the small box so it will fit better in the box. Not sure if I want to make the trade. Is there and major differences other than the size?

Does anyone have theirs setup to open to the rear? I have a camper shell, so it would be nice to use this as an awning of sorts.

    If so, what size?

Nice! Any XL tents facing to the rear?

Also, where's the best place to buy?

I have the standard size on a high rack. I can't stand completely upright on level ground under it and I'm 6-2.
