Smittybilt XRC-9.5 Gen2 Winch

Anyone running one?
I like the price and for a weekend warrior seems like it's good to go.

I have one with steel line! For me, the price was the main factor. It works like a champ too. I've had it about 8 months and have used it probably 10 times or so. I've used it for pulling myself over obstacles, getting others unstuck, and moving trees. Pulls my pig over stuff with no issues.

Was high centered here and pulled myself forward.

 

If you do get one, do yourself a favor and get proper equipment too.

• tree saver
• snatch block
• winch line dampener
• multiple shackles

 

I've had mine for a bit over a year. Pulled my buddy out alot, made some money with it. It does its job for the price compared to a $1k warn that would get used maybe once every 6 months.

The 2.0 series seem nice as well. I also did in cab controls so if you dont want to bother the 2.0s have the option of wireless remote

 

Care to share the details of your in cab controls?

 

Pigtailed off the solenoid box. Hot goes to round switch, other 2 come off the rocker. Other wires mixed in so it wont come on without the key and the rocket lights up with headlights.

Clean set up, nice work man.

 

I’ve got one sitting in the garage installing this weekend with synthetic line. My dad has the same one used it several times no issue an has had a couple water submergings without incident.
